Tippy Tables

Another first tonight as Em mocked me in public for the first time. We were sitting at a tippy little table in front of a Lebanese cafe on Second Street, and Em bumped it, spilling water all around. As I mopped it up with napkins, I explained how all cafes around the world have these same, tiny little round tables -- always too small to accommodate all the plates they bring, and never evenly balanced, so that they are all quite tippy. The sooner she learns that all these tables are tippy, the more comfortable she'll be sitting around these cafe tables.

"Wow, Dad... that's really cool! Tell me more! Wow!

Jen and I smiled. Is she mocking me?

"That's really cool, Dad, wow, tell me more about the tables..."
