The Joneses came out to wave goodbye as our ferry made
its way out of Eagle Harbor, their beach betraying no
battle scars from the armaments that had erupted there the night before.
Meanwhile, throughout the morning, Jeff kept us up to date on the progress
of the pickleball trophy we had won the day before.
Their neighbors on Rockaway Beach had invited us to
join their tournaments. But they probably hadn't
counted on facing Jeff's and my prowess on the Pickleball
Court. With the support of our ardent fans and impromptu
cheerleading squad that drove us to victory and the
right to claim their pickleball trophy, which Jeff
took back to Sonoma County for us.
We settled in on the ferry with the latest
tabs and made our way back to Seattle.
