Calli wore her stars-and-stripes bikini and brought along some Sunset-magazine inspired Sangrias to celebrate Independence Day at the cabin -- a worthy drink for the holiday, but let us not denigrate the potent combination of Carlo Rossi burgundy, 7up, and sliced oranges that has seen us through so many celebrations.
Pete and Julia brought their kids, and we were only too glad to rescue them from a nearby camp ground that had placed them almost directly under River Road. Pete, who built sets for "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Deadwood," returned from a visit to the Guerneville Safeway with dry ice, which he showed us how to use to make a bucket steam real, Hollywood fog.
