Transom Chasers

That's us! Emily, Emily, Peter & me, optimistically dubbed the Channel Surfers, at the back of the pack, watching the transoms and sails of the other six boats in the race as they pulled gently away from us towards the sun setting over Mount Tamalpais. They kept moving further and further away throughout the 45-minute race, and some of the boats in the second race joined them before we crossed the finish line -- 10th in a race of seven boats.
Oh, well. Tough to complain about any day out on the water.
