Of all the foreign capitals we'd visited, we had never made it to the one closest to California -- Mexico City, the oldest city in the Americas, continuously inhabited since the 13th century.
We went to see the Dia de los Muertos festivities, and found we were also there to see the Formula 1 -- at least the qualifying race on Saturday, which we could afford. It was equal parts confusing, overwhelming, and pretty enjoyable.
