New Sailing Latitude, New Sailing Attitude

One of the reasons I dreaded moving back to Southern California was that I would miss sailing on my beloved San Francisco Bay.
Where am I supposed to sail?! I had demanded of Jen in the heat of one such "discussion."
"I believe there is an ocean just off the beach," she said.
To which I rolled my eyes. An ocean with no wind! 8 knots!"
But it turns out that 8 knots in sunny warm winds means you're more likely to secure a willing crew, especially when the club includes poolside privileges at the Maya Hotel next door. The main point is to get out on the water-- and I've found I'm doing that far more often in Long Beach.
