It was kind of our driver to supply us with critical local information we would need upon arrival
Some years back, on our first visit to London (honeymoon!) we climbed upstairs and sat up front on a red double decker for a cheap tour of London. We were chatting so much that we didn't realize when the bus had reached its last stop and had emptied out. Slightly muddled we shouted down the stairs, "Is everyone off the bus?" The driver, mildly annoyed, shouted back up to us: "Not everyone."
