First Day of School

Em's school sent home a Compact, a contract of sorts wherein the school promised a list of things ("The school promises to assign homework...") and the parents and student are each supposed to sign and return. Somehow, it doesn't feel like a real negotiated contract, since we didn't have any input. I was reading Em's promises to her, including one about, "I will arrive on school every day. "Well, I'll try ... but I won't promise." That's my girl.
