Hiking the Trans-Catalina Trail

I always like to try something new on my birthday. So this year, Em and I took the ferry out to Avalon and set off on the Trans-Catalina Trail. We spent two nights camping, first near Avalon and then on the windward side of the isle at Little Harbor.
Three years earlier, when we hiked up Whitney, we were about evenly paired: I had trained for months and Em had not trained at all. Three years hence, I was a drag on Em's performance. Tempus fugit.
