Plan B to Prague
Upper Austria

Snow fell lightly but persistently through Sunday
morning, but it never occurred to me that this might
be a problem. When I returned to the meeting
hotel, all the other attendees, their spouses and kids
were hanging out in the lobby, and the cab drivers
were milling about. Seems the road down to Munich was
dicey, and not worth risking it since most flights out
of Munich were delayed or cancelled.
This cheered me right up, because I didn't really
want to fly out of Munich. I preferred to get to
a train station and nostalgically work my way
along the rails to Prague, where I needed to be
on Monday afternoon. Elke checked online and found
a train from Salzburg to Prague, leaving in three
hours -- more than enough time to make, according
to my seasoned Alpine cab driver.
From Salzburg, I made my way by train, out in front
of the storm and across the snowy landscape of Upper
Austria, on into the Czech Republic and onto Prague.
