It had been a lot of years since I had had a big greasy orange Tommy's burger. In high school, we used to drive out to Eagle Rock at lunch to get 'em, running through a whole wad of paper towels just to keep the orange grease off our face and hands. They've sprouted new locations in the decades since, and I've recently noticed this little outpost in Valencia as we entered or exited LA. This time we decided to risk it, reasoning with ourselves that there are emergency rooms in Bakersfield and all along Highway 99, if it comes to that. Mercifully, it didn't.
