Resusciating the BuickAug. 3, 2007
I know I never thought, the last time I drove the Skylark into the garage, "There! I'll get it out again in 4 years!" But that's how it happens. What got in the way? McKinsey? Nursing school? Being 40? At some point, it became a playhouse for the kids, a place where they took pretend road trips. When I parked it in there, no one knew what a carbon footprint was. Is it worth resuscitating a vehicle that leaves a contrail on Highway 12? Footnote: Vaccuuming under the driver's seat, I found the Victorinox I bought in Zurich on our honeymoon years ago. Missing 4 years. Thought maybe I'd lost it at a TSA checkpoint. |
