Early Spring Visit to see Ellie
Boston
April 3-6, 2017

Ellie brought a case of pneumonia home from Rome, and we
had to watch somewhat helplessly from California while
she suffered and struggled to get out to doctors who persistently
misdiagnosed her. Paul let me come out for a week of work on
short notice, and by the time I arrived on Saturday the antibiotics
had her back on her feet.
On the Red Sox's Opening Day, it was warm enough so that
students were out on Newbury Street in short pants. Yet, you
could still see small, stubborn piles of dirty, icy snow,
reminding us that winter was really just a few days ago.
We had a fun week, my last real visit
of the year exploring Boston with my Emerson freshman.
